Posted by A quick word about Anthony Weiner’s newest sex scandal. I’m sick of his wife, Huma Abedin. She actually stood by and defended him again. Maybe she really does love him and believes he’ll change this time. Then she’s a lovely fool.
But any defense of Huma Abedin due to some notion of marital fidelity is without base. He obviously doesn’t respect their marriage. Fool me once, shame on you (Weiner). Fool me twice, shame on me (Abedin).
She could easily divorce him, get child support/alimony and move on with her life with dignity. I doubt that he’s changing diapers or picking the kid up from daycare or whatnot. He’s a politician who’s running for NYC mayor after all.
Abedin would be adored by anyone in the media (and morally minded people) for taking a stand against repeated infidelity. Just because Hillary tied her career to Bill doesn’t mean that Abedin needs to do so.
As an aside, the cad in me loves Anthony Weiner. Dude gets taken down by one scandal. Preserves marriage. Goes into hiding. Comes out, rehabilitates himself, continues to sext and his wife still stands by him when he’s caught again.
